The Best Horror Style Halloween Costumes From The Scariest Movies of All Time
Some of the most popular Halloween costumes for men come from the scariest horror movies or characters of all time. The popular blockbuster movies that spawned these scary characters might have been released years ago, but the characters and the movies still scare us today.
Jason Voorhees is the main villian in the Friday the 13th series. The first movie came out in 1980, but was so popular that twelve more movies were released with Jason as the main character. The Jason character we are familiar with today did not show up with his iconic hockey mask until the third movie. What makes Jason so scary to us is the way he pops out when you least expect it, although, the audience knows since the creepy music swells. The oppositional character to Jason usually has a pretty hard time killing him and not until Jason has killed all the hero's friends. Jason is known for his hockey goalie mask, the machete he uses to kill his victims and his ripped and torn clothing usually covered in blood. The Halloween outfits for Jason must include the hockey mask and the machete to feel authentic.
Child's Play is the name of the movie that gave birth to the one of the scariest dolls of all time; Chucky. In the movie, Chucky is the name the doll has given itself after a mass murderer on the verge of death is able to inhabit the body of the doll until he can resurrect himself. At times, the doll appears only doll-like until he says something decidedly creepy and kills his victim. There were five Chucky movies with the first being released in 1988 and the last in 2004. This is one of the Halloween costumes for men that might be the creepiest. If you have ever seen a doll that has struck you as a little creepy, this movie, and the costume along with it, will give you nightmares.
One of the scariest novelists of all time, Stephen King, wrote It in 1986. The novel is set around the lives of a few children living in a small town. It first shows itself as the clown Pennywise to prey on the fears of the children. Every three decades, Pennywise, which hides a truly monstrous entity, works on scaring the children he plans on taking, akin to a farmer fattening a pig before taking it to slaughter. In 1990, the novel was made into a television movie where Pennywise the Clown had a prominent role. Clowns are often as scary to some as they are funny to others. This clown has fangs, blood on his face and crazy eyes. The Pennywise Halloween outfits include the traditional clown costume it is known for, fangs and blood to drip down the mouth.
Zombies have always been extremely popular. Whether it is the Dawn of the Dead, 28 Days Later or Night of the Living Dead, zombie movies have been popular for decades. The recent popularity of The Walking Dead has brought about a new emergence of zombie love. The idea that a contaminant could trigger a zombie apocalypse does not seem so far-fetched in the movies. It makes a person wonder what it would take to trigger one in reality. It's a scary concept and zombie Halloween outfits are ones that can scare most anyone.
The unifying theme in the zombie, Pennywise, Jason and Chucky Halloween costumes for men is that they are instantly recognizable and have the ability to scare others. The original films came out when most of us were at an impressionable age, and they might have been the first movies that truly scared us as children. Dawn Of The Dead And Halloween Costumes
Dawn of the Dead is a classic horror film directed and written by George A. Romero, a well known horror movie master. The original film was released in 1978 and was so popular that it inspired a 2004 remake.
Dawn of the Dead is considered an archetypical zombie movie with a basic plot line that has the heroes of the film fleeing from and doing battle with zombies. The zombies are unleashed on the world after some unknown agent enters the world, causing the dead to come back to life as brain hungry monsters. The original Dawn of the Dead film was made for the relatively modest sum of $650,000 over four months and ended up making more than $55 million worldwide, a significant amount in the 1970's. Dawn of the Dead is such a cult classic that Halloween outfits based on the characters from the film have been popular with people since the films initial release in 1978..
There are many similarities and differences between the 1978 film Dawn of the Dead and the remake in 2004. One similarity between the two films is that the main part of the action takes place in a mall. The few survivors of the zombie apocalypse arrive at the mall in stages and band together in an attempt to survive. Another similarity between the films is the decidedly ambiguous endings of both films. With both the 1978 and 2004 films the viewer is unsure who, if anyone, survives..
There are also a number of differences between the two version of Dawn of the Dead. The 1978 version focuses on a couple named Stephen(played by David Emge)and Francine(played by Gaylen Ross)and the survivors they meet. The 2004 film, on the other hand, focuses mainly on Ana (played by Sarah Polley)and is told from her perspective. While Ana's cast mates don't get a lot of screen time in the 2004 version, Ving Rhames's character Kenneth and some of the other male characters have become popular Halloween costumes for men..
Zombies, in both Dawn of the Dead films, have similar traits and characteristics. In both versions the zombies are primarily interested in eating the brains of the survivors of the zombie plague. The zombies are mindless and generally travel in packs. The zombies in the films are also unaffected by things like lost limbs, torn clothes or injuries to their bodies, making zombies popular Halloween costumes for men..
The only thing that truly stops a zombie is a shot to the brain or fire. Additionally, a zombie bite is certain death to anyone who is so unlucky as to be bitten and survive the initial attack. The zombies bite guarantees that after death the victim will rise again as a bloodthirsty zombie and will most likely kill those who are nearest and dearest to them first..
Zombies, like those in Dawn of the Dead, are well known horror creatures making them great Halloween costumes for men and women. Makeup to emulate the zombies typically pale complexions and dark circled eyes is easy to find at most Halloween costume shops. Halloween costumes consisting of the zombies typically tattered clothing can also be purchased at Halloween stores, as well as fake blood to add an authentic detail to the Halloween costumes..

Ghostface Scream one of the easiest and best Halloween Costumes for men
"What's your favourite scary movie?" One question spawned four films, $600 million dollars, and an entire generation's worth of terror. Everyone has seen Scream the movie, and everyone can recognize Ghostface or Scream, the eerie killer that stalks young co-eds with nothing but a mask and a hunting knife. His character has become synonymous with slasher flickers as whole.
A popular choice, Ghostface can be worn by both genders, but he's especially suited for men's Halloween costumes for the simple fact that he's *scary*. No jokes, no tricks, no femininity - just a hood and a mask and an endless scream.
Chucky (Child’s Play)
Most kids are generally scared that when they turn their backs, their toys come alive. Not in a fun Toy Story kinda way but in a ‘what if I fall asleep and wake up to my teddy holding a kitchen knife’ sort of thing.
Chucky, the ginger-haired blood with a thirst for blood, caused many a nightmare when he went on a rampage in the many Child’s Play movies. Don’t turn your back kids. Ever.
Defining Line: Hi, I'm Chucky, and I'm your friend till the end. Hidey-ho!
Not only is it one of the best Halloween costumes for men but
there is a ladies version out now.
Hannibal Lector (The Silence of the
Lambs)
Sometimes, there’s nothing scarier than intelligence. Especially when couples with a cannibalistic appetite for human flesh.
Supposedly just limiting himself to rude folk, Hannibal Lector still proved himself a consistently menacing presence to any of us with meat to spare. As polite as he’d be, it would still sting.
Defining Line: A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chia

Freddy Krueger And Halloween Costumes For Men
Freddy Krueger Halloween Costumes are a Classic
A Nightmare on Elm Street was a horror film that came out in 1984. Instantly successful, the movie made back its production costs in the first week at the box office. The movie plays on the viewers perception of fantasy versus reality, a dream state and a waking state. The movie was written and directed by Wes Craven. An interesting fact is that several studios turned down Craven. The one studio that showed interest was Walt Disney Studios, but they wanted him to tone down the graphic details and gore.
The basis of the film is Freddy Krueger, the main character, who stalks his victims through their dreams. Often the victim is unsure if he or she is awake or dreaming until he or she starts bleeding. The first victim we see gets slashed across her nightgown after being stalked in a boiler room. With a scream, she awakens to find that her nightgown is slashed in reality. What makes the movie so compelling is the fact that we don't know from scene to scene whether the person is asleep and having a nightmare or awake. The scenes seem like waking events until suddenly something is a little off and you start to realize the victim fell asleep.
Freddy Krueger was the villain of the movie. He chased these specific teenagers in their dreams and slowly killed them all in a shocking way. The scenes were unexpected and truly scary. It touches us all because we all have had vivid dreams that when we woke up we wondered for a moment which was reality and which was a dream state. That taps into some common experiences for us all.
The film is still a favorite amongst horror movie fanatics. The movie won numerous awards and so did the director. There's been numerous sequels each scarier than the last. In 2010, a remake was made, and everyone recognizes Freddy Krueger with his ragged stripped shirt and the glove he wears made of long slicing blades.
Due to the popularity of the films, Freddy Krueger Halloween costumes for men have been popular for generations. Even those unfamiliar with the older films will see Halloween costumes for men still today. It can be hard to find a costume that people recognize and that men and boys alike can have fun with, the Freddy Halloween costumes are one that does both.
